The Plan
We leave the UK on Monday 25th June 2012. This trip will be somewhat
different to that initially envisaged and will basically consist of a
plane ride to St Petersburg via Amsterdam and Riga then 2 overnight
train journeys up to Murmansk.
After spending a couple of days with the Rotary Club of Murmansk
we travel by Sputnik bus to Kirkenes (Norway) where we board the
Hurtigruten boat M/S Polarlys for a 4 day journey down the coast of
Norway - dropping off for a visit to North Cape. We depart the boat at
Trondheim and a train trip gets us to Oslo where we catch our return
flight home.
All in all a 12 day trip and no cars involved but all we could
fit in at this relatively busy time of year - no good going in the
Winter !!!!
